Kayode-Adeshina


















A prominent Lagos white cap chief, Kayode Adeshina was on Thursday killed in his home at Onimole Palace, Iga Iduganran Street, Isale Eko on the Island.

The chief was killed by gunmen who reportedly gained access into his home around 3am, woke him up from sleep and pointed a gun at him demanding for money.
Adeshina, 73, was shot when he responded that he does not have any.
According to the deceased daughter, Oyinlola Ikuforiji: “My father was rudely woken up and a gun was pointed at him. He pleaded with the gunmen to spare his life but they demanded  money. He was shot when he told them that he had no money.”
The victim was said to have being locked up in his room by the robbers who went on to search the house carting away valuables including jewelries and phones belonging to the deceased.
After the gunmen left, Adeshina was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The victim’s eldest daughter, Mosaku Aola,reacted to the unfortunate incident saying, “We cannot say for now if this is a murder or robbery. Subsequent investigation by the police should reveal that.”
DSP Ngozi Braide, the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer confirmed the incident saying, “Adeshina was killed by some gunmen who broke into his house earlier on Thursday. After shooting Adeshina, they seized the phone belonging to one of his sons who was with him at the time.
“Arrests have already been made and investigation is ongoing to ensure the perpetrators are brought to book.”
120 have been reportedly arrested over the murder of the chief.
The Lagos state government has mandated relevant law enforcement agencies to fish out the killers without delay.
Speaking on behalf of the government, the state commissioner for information, Lateef Ibirogba said, “This is unfortunate. It is a surprise that this incident happened now that we have relative peace and security in the state.
“The government  will support the police’s efforts to bring the perpetrators of this evil act to book.”
