President Goodluck Jonathan, on Tuesday, granted his former boss, DSP Alamieyeseigha, a former Bayelsa State governor, presidential pardon alongside seven others.
The Council of State, which comprises the President, Vice President, all state governors, former Presidents, the Chief Justice of the Federation, the Senate President and Speaker, amongst others, unanimously approved the list of those pardoned on Tuesday afternoon.
The list also include former Chief of General Staff, Oladipo Diya; former Chief of Staff Supreme Military Council, and brother of the late President, Major General Shehu Musa Yar’adua; Major Bello Magaji.
Others are Mohammed Lima Biu, Shettima Bulama, Major Geeneral Abdulkareem Adisa and Major Segun Fadipe.
This treatment should also be extended to regular folks who are languishing in our prisons for lesser crimes.
