Kidnappers of Jonathan’s cousins demand N50m ransom

Kidnappers of the cousins to President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience Egbeni and Kate Eni, who were kidnapped on May 20, have reportedly demanded N50 million ransom for their release.
The victims were kidnapped at Jonathan’s maternal home town in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The gunmen reportedly made the ransom five days after abducting the ladies.
Police Public Relations Officer, Butswat Asinim, confirmed that the victims had not been released, but denied any knowledge about the ransom demand.
However, a youth leader in Ogbia, who spoke to Vanguard on the condition of anonymity said the kidnappers called and demanded for N50 million.
He however disclosed the family was still negotiating with the kidnappers.
