President Zuma arrives for the inauguration ceremony...



It will be recalled that president-elect Muhammadu Buhari a few weeks back mandated Atiku to travel with Adesina to see South African president, Jacob Zuma to solicit support for Adesina’s AfDB presidency bid.
Adesina won the AfDB presidential election yesterday with a very comfortable margin. He will be sworn in as AfDB president on September 1st, 2015 according to the outgoing president of the AfDB, Mr. Donald Kaberuka
Many Heads of State are expected at the ceremony today...about 50...Going by what the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Edem Duke, said on Friday that no fewer than 50 Heads of State and other delegates ​were expected to attend the May 29 handing over ceremony.
Mr. Duke, while addressing a news conference in Abuja on the activities lined up for the inauguration of the new government, said all the 54 countries in Africa had been invited to grace the occasion.
This is the first time in 16 years that the Democracy Day celebrations will witness the inauguration of a new president from an opposition party.
