A 23-year-old City worker has died after he plummeted from a tenth-storey roof terrace in front of dozens of horrified witnesses.
The unnamed man, who worked for PwC - the former PricewaterhouseCoopers - fell from the top floor of More London Riverside near Tower Bridge on the South Bank at around 7.45pm last night.
The City worker died at the scene, close to London's City Hall, despite the attempts of paramedics and security guards to save him.
Today around half a dozen bouquets of flowers were laid at the scene by the young man's friends and co-workers.
Witnesses described hearing screams of horror from terrified onlookers in the area which was packed with tourists, office workers and diners.
The Evening Standard reports the man, who was wearing a dark-coloured suit, landed just yards from Argentinian restaurant Gaucho.
A witness told the paper: 'I saw it. It was horrible. I wasn't looking up but I saw his silhouette falling against the sky with his legs and arms flailing and then heard a massive bang.'
He said ambulance crews arrived at the scene quickly but many people were distraught after witnessing the incident.
A 19-year-old bar worker told the Standard: 'I was clearing glasses away when all of a sudden there was a really loud screaming noise and shouting from near the fountains.
'I looked across and could see people running towards a man on the floor.'
Scotland Yard said they do not believe the death is suspicious and a file will be sent to the coroner in due course.
A Met Police spokesman told MailOnline: 'Police were called to More London Riverside, SE1 junction with Tooley Street at 7.44pm on Thursday, July 30 following reports of a man believed to have fallen from a building.
'Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a 23-year-old man suffering from critical injuries.
'He was pronounced dead at the scene. The death has been deemed non-suspicious.
'Next of kin have been notified and the case has been referred to the Coroner.'
A spokesman for PwC said this afternoon: 'We can confirm that one of our employees died in tragic circumstances last night in More London.
'Our thoughts are with the family, friends and colleagues of the person concerned and we will do all we can to support them at this difficult time.'
The building is the headquarters of PwC.
